At the end of each year we publish a list of fantastic brands making remarkably good items in a better way.
This year, we're focusing on the items that stand the test of time and hold our deep devotion.
We asked our community to share their recommendations.

This iconic brand is known for their cast iron pans. However, it's their stainless steel goods that is a favourite in our community.

Handmade Sussex trugs, traditionally meant for carrying vegetables, flowers or logs, but suitable around the house.

Homegrown Cornish flowers, delivered from their farm to anywhere in the UK, complete with weekly and monthly subscription services.

Tweedmill
Fabulous and affordable fully recycled or new wool blankets, all woven right here. They don't sell directly, but are worth the quick moments to source (ahem, National Trust).

Sony
Wireless noise-cancelling headphones from Sony. The WH-1000XM4 model gets particular kudos.
Atoms to Astronauts
Notebooks with inspirational covers and endpapers, for the science, maths or nature lover. FSC, British-made.
Pith
Lay-flat notebooks and journals, with paper thick enough for watercolours. Fully British-made.
Blackwing
Strong, smooth lead in varying weights with an accurate, pointed (and refillable) eraser — these are a joy to use.
Koh-i-noor
An ultra-durable graphite holder with a buttery smooth refillable (and retractable) graphite. Serious business, serious fans, made to last.
Kaweco
Smooth flowing lines in a satisfying holder. Their fountain pens get particular love, though Kaweco offer many other options (and colours) as well.
POSCA
Markers that layer with the quality of paint. On basically any surface. A game-changer for those who haven't tried.

Described as the highlight of the day by the community member who submitted it, Oskia's Renaissance Cleansing Gel is for daily use.
Olive & Joyce
A small company with a loyal following, handmaking each product from the best ingredients possible.

With a generous 10% for charity policy, this vegan and mostly-organic skincare and make-up company is cutting big roads.

Hardwearing unisex smocks made here in Britain. Made from cotton sailcloth, intended for over-sweater use.

Go-to British-made knitwear and waxed canvas jackets, along with well-curated homegoods.

Nearly exclusively EU-made mountaineering, climbing, and well, all types of ultra-active boots and shoes. Men, women and kids.
Moorswood
Old-school, plastic-free blankets for outdoor use. Wool with waxed canvas. Small and large sizes.
Glerup
Glorious 100% wool slippers, with soles of either leather or — for indoor/outdoor use — natural rubber. Multiple styles. Adults and kids.
